Here is what the Maui Visitor’s Bureau says about it:

• From the airport, transportation is available via taxi and several airport shuttle services.

• Virtually all major rental car companies are represented on Maui. In addition, there are a number of locally operated vehicle rental companies. Rental car companies are well represented in or near Kahului Airport, in Ka’anapali near the Kapalua Airport, and in many major resort hotels in West Maui and South Maui.

• Some of the local rental companies also offer specialized vehicles four wheel drive jeeps, exotic cars, motorcycles, and windsurfing vans.

• Private limousines

• Vans services for visitors with special transportation needs.

• Transportation from the Kahului Airport to various points is provided by taxi and shuttle. Service desks are located in the Baggage Claim area.

• Transportation from the Kapalua West Maui Airport is provided by taxi. Guests staying in Kapalua may pre-arrange pickup service with the resorts’ hotels and villas.

• Public Transportation: Public transportation in West Maui, Central Maui and South Maui is available. Speak with hotel front desk staff or concierge regarding service and times. They do not presently service the airport.
